Sybil is an ordinary girl who just wants to blend in, but on her first day of middle school she blurts out a mysterious prophecy. Is she an oracle or just a "weirdo" like her newly ex-best friend thinks? Can she solve the prophecy's riddle, help the other sixth-graders survive the older kids’ hazing, and still make friends?

An uptight neurobiologist must reconcile her reverence for pure science with the spiritual world she abhors to rescue her Buddhist brother from the astral plane, where he has been trapped by an evil spirit who has taken over his body.
